Over time creases, lines and wrinkles develop on the face due to many factors such as the ageing process, pollution, sunlight, cigarette smoke, stress and the repeat action of the facial muscles. Facial lines are classed in two categories; mobile or moving lines which appear when moving a particular facial muscle e.g frown lines. And static lines these are present when the muscles of the face are at rest. There is a natural progression from mobile to static lines over time due to repeated muscular actions. The objective therefore is to break the facial habit preventing mobile lines becoming static lines. The relaxing of the muscles releases tension on the skin also causing the static lines to become less evident, the overall effect is a smoother, fresher more youthful appearance. Botulinum Toxin treatment most commonly known as Botox is a toxin that can erase fine lines and wrinkles improving facial contour for male and female clients. It encompasses injecting a small amount of botilinum toxin through a fine needle into the facial muscles blocking the nerve impulse, causing the muscle to relax and become temporarily inactive. This lasts from 3 to 6 months, but the effects are different in each individual client. It takes 72 hours before the treatment begins to work, however a full 2 weeks is needed to gain the over all effect. You will be asked to return for an assessment on the second week to assess your response.
